The kinds of large animals that the Germanic peoples had domesticated are: hundr (dog), geit (goat), hestr (horse), þjórr/boli/naut/starfr and kýr (bull and cow), uxi/oxi (ox), ær and fær (ewe and sheep), kjúklingr (chicken).
